NEW ORLEANS – In its final road match of the 2016 regular season, the Stephen F. Austin women’s tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Tulane at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
SFA’s final non-conference regular season match of the season started off on the wrong foot as the Ladyjacks’ doubles teams were unable to capture a set against the Green Wave who took a 1-0 lead with sweeps in the first and third tandem matches.
Three of SFA’s singles matches were left unfinished after Tulane produced the game-clinching points with two-set wins at first, fifth and sixth singles.
The Ladyjacks return to the Schlief Tennis Complex on Saturday and Sunday and will attempt to solidify their standing for the upcoming 2016 Southland Conference Tournament. Longtime Piney Woods rival Sam Houston State opposes SFA at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday afternoon before the Ladyjacks’ season finale on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., pits them against Lamar.
