FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin junior Jessie White has been named a second team All-Southland Conference selection, announced today by the league office. It is the second All-SLC honor of White’s career after picking up first team honors in 2015.
White had another strong season for the Ladyjacks, finishing the year with a 77.50 scoring average, the third-lowest single-season round in program history, while also registering four top-10 finishes. She registered a second-place showing at the UIW Lady Cardinal Classic while tying for 10th at the Southland Conference Championship, making her the first player in program history to record two-straight top-10 finishes at the conference tournament.
For her career, White boasts a 77.68 scoring average over 77 rounds played, ranking second in the history of the program. She already holds the program’s mark for top-10 finishes with nine, five ahead of her nearest competitor, while holding seven of the top-20 rounds in Ladyjack program history.
White and the rest of her SFA teammates are coming off a tie for fourth in last week’s Southland Conference Championship, giving the Ladyjacks eight top-10 team finishes their 11 tournaments on the year. As a team, SFA posted a 312.63 scoring average in 2015-16, the third-best season performance since the program was formed in 2009-10.
