MONROE, La. – Road matches continued to be a thorn in the side of the Stephen F. Austin women’s tennis team as the Ladyjacks fell by a 4-0 tally at Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday afternoon.
In their first shutout loss of the season, the Ladyjacks couldn’t get any traction against the Warhawks as Denise Maxl and Vanesa Calvo Pardo fell in the number-two doubles battle by a 6-1 score. Lauren Hidalgo-Smith and Liza Aginskaya were handed a 6-3 defeat in the third doubles match, giving the lone tandem point to the Warhawks.
Through the three completed singles matches, Hidalgo-Smith, Aginskaya and Valeria Terentyeva were all handed setbacks to give ULM the match-clinching points. Both of SFA’s 2016 setbacks have occurred on the road.
On Wednesday afternoon, SFA will engage in its last home non-conference tilt of 2016 when the Ladyjacks host Louisiana Tech. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
