LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Stephen F. Austin held serve over the second round of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational, remaining in fifth among the 10-team field. The Ladyjacks matched their 17-over 305 from round one and are at 34-over 610 through the first 36 holes.
Freshman Alexandra Batista posted the low round of the day for the Ladyjacks, shooting a career-low 1-over 73. After posting a 3-over 39 on the back nine, Batista went 2-under 34 on the front nine and is tied for eighth overall in the individual standings at 6-over 150.
Senior Jessie White continues to lead SFA and is sitting in second place among the individual standings with an even-par 144. After her program-tying 67 in round one, White shot a 5-over 77 in round two and is two strokes back of tournament leader Kennedie Montoya of New Mexico State.
Redshirt sophomore Erica Lautensack posted a 4-over 76 on the day and is in 34th-place with a 15-over 159. Freshman Haleigh Jordan is tied for 37th with a 17-over 161 with senior Ann Holcomb rounding out the Ladyjack scorecard at 21-over 165.
Entering the day in fifth-place, SFA remained in the same spot after 36 holes, sitting three shots back of fourth-place UC Irvine. Host New Mexico State leads the field with an 18-over 594, six shots better than second-place South Dakota State (24-over 600), with UTEP (28-over 604) in third, joining the Anteaters and Ladyjacks among the top-five.
The final round of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational gets underway at 10:30 a.m. CT Wednesay as the Ladyjacks look to make a run at the leaderboard. SFA will play with UC Irvine and Grand Canyon in the final round pairings as live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com. Full results will be posted to SFAJacks.com as they become available.
