
Ladyjacks Earn NTCA All-Scholars Team Honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Stephen F. Austin continues to show its commitment to the classroom as well as the lanes as the Ladyjacks earned National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Scholar honors, announced today.
As a team, SFA boasted a 3.61 combined GPA for the 2014-15 season, tying for third in the nation with Piney Woods rival Sam Houston State. Long Island captured the All-Scholars Team award with a 3.79 GPA, followed by Felician College’s 3.64 GPA, just ahead of the Ladyjacks.
A total of 21 teams reached the 3.20 threshold for the season as the Ladyjacks are one of six Southland Bowling League schools among the list. SFA and Sam Houston are the only two ranked among the top-10 with Arkansas State (3.35), Monmouth (3.27), Vanderbilt (3.22) and Tulane (3.22) rounding out the list.
The Ladyjacks are coming off the most successful season in school history, advancing to the championship match of the 2015 NCAA Bowling Championships and finishing the year ranked second nationally. Seven Ladyjacks received Academic All-NTCA honors with senior Chelsea King and sophomore Paige Kraushaar being named third team Academic All-NTCA selections.
