NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Stephen F. Austin's Chelsea King and Paige Kraushaar have been named third team Academic All-National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) selections, announced today by the organization.
In addition, SFA had five other bowlers receive honorable mention Academic All-NTCA honors as Kelsi Anderson, Shana Geerdes, Kiara Grant, Danielle Lynn and Morgan Reising were also recognized.
It is the first Academic All-NTCA honor for both King and Kraushaar as the duo received honorable mention honors in 2014. Grant also makes her second appearance among the honorable mention selections.
King and Kraushaar were both named honorable mention NTCA All-Americans following the 2014-15 season, playing key roles in helping SFA post a national runner-up showing in the 2015 NCAA Championships. For Kraushaar, the NTCA honor comes after being named a Capital One first team Academic All-District selection in May.
The Ladyjack selections are among the 174 student-athletes from 33 schools represented in the yearly honor. To be named Academic All NTCA a student athlete needed to receive votes in the All American voting at the end of the season. They must also have a 3.4 GPA for the school year 2014-2015 confirmed by their school. If a student athlete has the received a 3.4 GPA for the year they are listed as Honorable mention.
