
Schwartz Representing SFA at USBC Queens

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin All-American Stephanie Schwartz is representing the Ladyjacks at the USBC Queens Tournament in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The largest women's USBC event of the year, Schwartz is going head-to-head against over 200 of the top women's bowlers in the nation from all age groups.
Competition began Thursday, May 14 as the bowlers compete in three days of qualifying rounds. After 15 qualifying games, the top 63 competitors, including the 2014 defending champion, advance to a double elimination match play competition beginning Sunday, May 17, running until the championship match Tuesday, May 19.
Schwartz made a big impact in her freshman season at SFA, starting off her career by winning the individual title in her first collegiate event. She led the Ladyjacks in scoring average on the year, earning all-tournament honors in four different events.
Schwartz was named the National Tenpin Coaches Association Freshman of the Year and a first team All-American, the first in program history. Schwartz capped her freshman season by earning NCAA Championship all-tournament honors, helping lead the Ladyjacks to a national runner-up finish.
