DUNNELLON, Fla. - Stephen F. Austin carded a 20-over 308 over the second round of the 2015 MSU Ocala Spring Invitational, falling into a tie for ninth among the 18-team field. The Ladyjacks now sit at 30-over 606, adding 20 shots to their round one total of 298.
Sophomore Jessica White is the clubhouse leader for the Ladyjacks, posting her second-straight 3-over 75 in round two and is at 6-over 150 through 36 holes, sitting tied for 17th overall. Freshman Erica Lautensack (75-76) and sophomore Ann Holcomb (73-78) are sitting on the doorstep of a top-20 finish, holding strong in a tie for 25th overall with a 7-over 151.
Juniors Sydney Reed and Mackenzie Steiner both shot a 7-over 79 in round two, adding to the duos 2-over 75 over the opening 18 holes and sitting at 10-over 154 among the challenging field.
SFA enters Tuesday's final round tied with North Florida (30-over 606) for ninth, three shots better than 11th-place Florida Gulf Coast (33-over 609). The Ladyjacks remain within striking distance of recording their fifth top-five showing of the year, and third-straight, trailing eighth-place South Alabama (28-over 604) by two, seventh-place Stetson (27-over 603) by three and are just five shots back of both Western Kentucky and host Morehead State (25-over 601) who are tied for fifth.
Daytona State College (20-over 596) is the leader in the clubhouse after shooting a 3-over 291 in round two, vaulting from ninth to first. They lead both Elon and South Dakota (21-over 597) by one shot with Murray State (23-over 599) sitting fourth with a a two-shot lead on both the Eagles and Hilltoppers.
Tuesday's final round gets underway at 7:15 a.m. CT with a shotgun start as the Ladyjacks will be teamed up with Stetson and South Alabama, teeing off on holes 6-8. Full results will be posted at SFAJacks.com as they become available.
