
Ladyjacks Sit 12th at Delta Gamma Challenge

2015 Delta Gamma Challenge Day One Results
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Stephen F. Austin posted a 32-over 600 over the first two rounds of the Delta Gamma Challenge as the Ladyjacks opened up the spring portion of its 2014-15 schedule. SFA sits 12th overall, four shots back of sitting among the top-10.
The Ladyjacks opened up the event strong, posting a 10-over 294 over the opening 18 holes at the event being hosted by Texas State. SFA struggled in round two, adding 12 shots to its opening round total to card a 22-over 306, settling into the 12th-place showing.
Freshman Erica Lautensack continued her strong play, posting a 4-over 146 through the opening rounds, including a 1-over 72 in round two, to sit tied for 19th in the individual standings. Sophomore Ann Holcomb is at 8-over 150, highlighted by a 2-over 73 in round one, and is tied for 39th overall.
Sophomore Jessica White and junior Sydney Reed both carded a 10-over 152 as White shot a 2-over 73 in round one and Reed posted a 2-over 74. Sophomore Mackenzie Steiner rounded out the Ladyjack scorecard with a 28-over 170.
SFA holds a six-shot lead over 13th-place Missouri State (38-over 606) and is just one stroke back of 11th-place Youngstown State (31-over 599). The Ladyjacks head into Monday’s final round just four shots back of New Mexico State (28-over 596) as SFA looks to record its sixth-straight top-10 finish of the season.
Idaho and Arkansas-Little Rock currently lead the 14-team field at 7-over 575 after 36 holes, holding a five-shot edge on third-place Houston (12-over 580). Host Texas State (15-over 583) sits fourth with Southland Conference foes Houston Baptist and Lamar tied for fifth overall at 17-over 585.
Monday’s final round gets underway at 8 a.m. as the Ladyjacks will play with New Mexico State and Youngstown State in the final round pairings. Full results will be posted at SFAJacks.com as they become available.
