HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Stephen F. Austin struggled in round two of the 2015 Little Rock Classic, slipping two spots to 14th among the 15 team field. The Ladyjacks shot a 27-over 315 in round two and has recorded a 52-over 628 through the first 36 holes of the event.
Entering the day in 12th-place overall, SFA added two strokes to its opening round 313, dropping back to 14th. The Ladyjacks are three shots back of 13th-place South Alabama (49-over 625) and are nine shots behind Sam Houston State (43-over 619) with 18 holes to play in the final event of the fall season.
Junior Jessie White matched her opening round 77 in round two and is tied for 33rd overall with a 10-over 154. She holds a three shot edge on junior Courtney Ford, who posted an 11-over 83 Monday and is at 13-over 157 for the tournament.
Senior Sydney Reed is third among the Ladyjack scorecard at 15-over 159, following her 6-over 78 in round two. Junior Ann Holcomb tied White for the low round of the day with a 77 and is at 17-over 161 while sophomore Jamee Jorgensen rounds out the scorecard at 21-over 165 following her second round 84.
Southland Conference foe Central Arkansas holds the 36 hole lead with an 11-over 587, holding a comfortable 10 stroke lead on second place Oral Roberts (21-over 597). Houston Baptist (22-over 598) is third with Missouri State (24-over 600) and host Arkansas-Little Rock (26-over 602) rounding out the top five.
Tuesday’s final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. SFA will team up with South Alabama and Louisiana-Monroe in the final round pairings, teeing off on holes 13-15. Full results of the 2015 Little Rock Golf Classic will be posted to SFAJacks.com as they become available.
