Ladyjacks Finish Seventh at ORU Shootout

2014 ORU Shootout Final Results 
TULSA, Okla. - Stephen F. Austin closed out the Oral Roberts Shootout with a seventh-place showing, carding a 65-over 917 for the event. The Lumberjacks posted a 24-over 308 over the final 18 holes, notching their third top-10 team showing of the season.
Freshman Erica Lautensack continued her impressive start as a Ladyjack, notching her second top-20 finish in as many weeks, tying for 13th overall. Lautensack fired a 5-over 76 in round three, giving her a 13-over 226 for the event.
Sophomore Ann Holcomb highlighted SFA's final round with a career round, firing a personal-best 2-over 73 over the final 18 holes. She just missed notching a top-20 finish as well, tying for 26nd overall with a 17-over 320.
Holcomb finished one spot ahead of sophomore Courtney Ford's 18-over 231, finishing the ORU Shootout with a 7-over 78. Sophomore Jessica White and freshman Jamee Jorgensen rounded out the Ladyjack scorecard, posting a 19-over 232 and 25-over 238, respectively.
SFA was able to leapfrog playing partner Northern Iowa, moving from eighth to seventh over the final round. The Ladyjacks finished three shots ahead of Southland Conference foe McNeese State (68-over 920) and 10 shots better than the ninth-place Panthers with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (100-over 952) rounding out the field.
Sam Houston State rallied to win the team title, shooting a 28-over 880 and besting host Oral Roberts (33-over 885) by five shots. Missouri State (39-over 891) placed third with Arkansas State and McLennan C.C. (56-over 908) tying for fourth. ORU's Alejandra Acosta won the individual title with a 3-over 216, winning by three strokes over a pair of competitors.
After back-to-back tournaments, SFA will now have a week off before returning to action at the Arkansas State Lady Red Wolf Classic. The two-day event gets underway Monday, Oct. 13 in Jonesboro, Ark., before wrapping up Tuesday, Oct. 14.
