
SFA Bowling Announces 2014-15 Slate

2014-15 SFA Bowling Schedule
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin has released its 2014-15 bowling schedule as the Ladyjacks will compete in nine regular season events, including hosting an event for the first time in program history.
SFA opens up the 2014-15 campaign in New Orleans, looking to defend its tournament title in the Crescent City competing in the All State Sugar Bowl Collegiate Invitational Oct. 17-19. The Ladyjacks then head to New Jersey to compete in the Fairleigh Dickinson Jamboree Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, seeking to defend another tournament title from last season.
SFA heads to Delaware for the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawk Classic Nov. 14-16 before closing out the calendar year in Houston, competing in the Sam Houston State Kat Klash Nov. 21-23.
After a two-month hiatus, the Ladyjacks return to the lanes in Jonesboro, Ark., taking part in the Mid Winter Classic, hosted by Arkansas State, Jan. 16-18. The following weekend takes SFA to Reading, Pennsylvania, for the Kutztown Invitational on Jan. 23-25, then makes the short trip to Arlington for the Prairie View A&M Invitational Jan. 30-Feb. 1, completing a challenging stretch that includes three tournaments over three weekends.
The Ladyjacks will then serve as the host institution in the 2014 SFA Storming ‘Jack Classic, being held in Houston over Valentine’s weekend. 20 schools are expected to compete in the event, being held at Palace Lanes Feb. 13-15.
The final regular season tournament of the season will be held in Smyrna, Tennessee, as Vanderbilt will host the Music City Classic March 6-8. That sets up SFA for the 2015 Incollegiate Team Sectionals, being held March 14-15.
This season’s NCAA Championships will be held April 8-11 in St. Louis, Missouri, as the Ladyjacks look to make a run at a national title. The 2014-15 season comes to a close April 15-18 at the Incollegiate Team Championships in Wichita, Kansas.
SFA is coming off a solid 2013-14 season which saw the Ladyjacks win the first two tournament titles in program history, reaching a national ranking as high as fourth. SFA placed ninth in the final polls as a handful of Ladyjacks went on to receive national honors, including a pair of All-Americans and Academic All-Americans recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA).
