
Bowling Climbs To Eighth in NTCA Coaches Poll

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Stephen F. Austin climbed one spot in the latest NTCA Coaches Poll, checking in at eighth following the first month of the season. The Ladyjacks moved up one spot after ranking ninth leading into the 2014-15 season.
SFA received 395 points in the latest poll after posting a 37-17 record through the first four tournaments of the 2014-15 campaign. The Ladyjacks have finished in the top-six in each, highlighted by a second-place showing at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Invitational.
SFA finished one spot back of seventh-place Wisconsin-Whitewater (463 pts.), sitting ahead of ninth-place Maryland-Eastern Shore (375 pts.) and 10th-place North Carolina A&T (358), who is making its first appearance in the top-10.
Nebraska continues to occupy the top spot, garnering 21 first place votes and 785 total points, sitting ahead of second-place Fairleigh Dickinson (720 pts.). Arkansas State (663 pts.), Central Missouri (633 pts.) and Sam Houston State (547 pts.) round out the top-five with Vanderbilt sitting sixth (523 pts.).
SFA returns to action once the calendar turns to 2015, traveling to Jonesboro, Ark., for the 2015 Mid Winter Invitational January 16-18. It is the first of five tournaments in the winter portion of the schedule as the Ladyjacks aim to qualify for the 2015 NCAA Championships being held April 8-11 in St. Louis, Mo.
