NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin head bowling coach Amber Lemke has announced a pair of signees during the NCAA Early Signing Period. Paige Beeney and Dakotah Hazelwood have signed National Letters of Intent and will begin competing for the Ladyjacks in the fall of 2015.
Beeney is a native of Salado, Texas, and is a three-time letterwinner at Georgetown High School. A three-time first team all-district selection, Beeney has qualified for the state tournament in each of the past three seasons, capturing the 2014 Region IV singles championship. In addition, Beeney has competed in both the National Junior Gold and Teen Masters Championships for the past two seasons.
Hazelwood attends Rockford Lutheran High School in Capron, Ill., earning first team all-conference and MVP honors for the past two seasons. She was a sectionals and state qualifier as a junior and has compiled scoring averages over 200 in the last two seasons. Hazelwood also has a pair of perfect games under her belt with a high series of 771.
The duo are expected to bolster a young but talented Ladyjack roster that has already posted four top-10 finishes in 2014-15. Heading into the new year, SFA is currently ranked eighth in the latest NTCA coaches poll as the Ladyjacks have five tournaments remaining leading up to the 2015 NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo.
