Ladyjacks Begin Fall Season At ULM Fred Marx Invite

MONROE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team fired a 314 in the opening round of the ULM Fred Marx Invitational Monday morning and came back in the second round with a 308 for a day one total of 622 and will enter play Tuesday in 10th place.
SFA was led by underclassmen during the opening rounds of the 2013 season. Sydney Reed fired the team's low rounds of the day, finishing (T-10) with a six-over par 150. Reed will enter the final day looking to post a low round after a career best start.
Freshman Jessica White (T-26) fired a 154 during her collegiate debut for the Ladyjacks. Piper Kyle was one of three Ladyjacks to finish the day in the 150's, posting a 156. Senior Aliece Anderson opened the day with an 82, but cut two strokes from her opening round to close out the day with an 80. Senior Rosie Henderson lowered her score from round one as well, firing a second round 80, besting her morning score by five strokes.
The Ladyjacks finished the day with five rounds in the 70's, while having just two rounds over 80. SFA will close out the final round of action Tuesday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
