After sitting 12th of 13 teams following the first round of action, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team rallied for a program-best 294 to finish the day 11th (318-294 - 612) overall. Senior Chelsea Simmons (79-69 - 148/T24th) sparked SFA's second-round rally by recording a program-best individual round of 69 on the 5,821-yard, par-70 Onion Creek Original Course.
Senior Allison Flake recorded the Ladyjacks second lowest round after cutting six strokes off her opening round score. She enters Tuesday tied for 36th with a 79-73 - 152. Junior Aliece Anderson is two strokes back of Flake with a 79-75 - 154 to enter the final round tied for 46th.
Both Sydney Reed and Rose Henderson rallied from tough first rounds to shoot sub-80 scores in the second. Reed finished the day tied for 56th with a 180, while Henderson is tied for 58th with a 161.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday at 8 a.m. for the final round of action in the Challenge at Onion Creek. SFA will tee off on holes 12 - 14.
