SFA Places Third At Intercollegiate Team Sectionals

LAS VEGAS, NV - With a third place finish at this weekend's USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals in Las Vegas, the No. 13/10 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks bowling team guaranteed themselves a spot in the 16-team 2013 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships.
The field of 16 women's teams was determined at sectional qualifiers at four sites - Allentown, Pa.; Las Vegas, NV; Fairview Heights, Ill.; and Smyrna, Tenn. - with the top four teams in each division advancing. SFA finished in the top four along with Wichita State, Maryland Eastern Shore and Midland.
All teams bowled 64 games of Baker competition over two days for the right to advance to the Intercollegiate Team Championships, which will be held April 18-20 at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb. The women's finals will be broadcast in May on CBS Sports Network.
SFA (59-28) will be back in action in just five more days when they travel to Smyrna, Tennessee to compete in the Music City Classic March 15-17.
