
SFA In Second Place Heading Into Final Day

HACKENSACK, Nj – The No. 9 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks bowling team continued their winning ways at the FDU Jamboree Saturday, going 4-1 as a team in match play.
SFA (17-5) defeated No. 20 Bethune-Cookman (933-838) in their opening game. The Ladyjacks knocked off No. 5 Maryland Eastern Shore (1103-902) before dropping their only match of the day to No. 13 Sacred Heart (942-946).
SFA bounced back to reel off two straight wins over Salem International (837-806) and No. 18 New Jersey City (917-689) to close the day.
Senior Nicole Parkhurst finished with a 1,317 total pinfall, good enough for second in the tournament. Parkhurst rolled a game high 254, averaging 219.5 per game. Junior Chelsea King rolled a team high 257 on the day to finish with a 204.5 game average. King sits in 9th place individually with a 1,227 total pinfall.
The Ladyjacks are in second place overall heading into tomorrow’s final day. SFA will look to grab their second win in program history beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday.
