'Jacks Fall to Third at Victoria

VICTORIA, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team has two players among the field's overall top five, but fell two places Monday morning in the second round of the Jim West Intercollegiate in Victoria, Texas. Junior Mitchell McLeroy fired a two-under 70 on the 6,870-yard, par-72 course at the Victory Country Club to finish the day one stroke back of the leader (67-70 - 137).
Senior Stetson McMillan posted his second-straight solid round with a one-under 71, but lost ground on the field. McMillan enters the final day of competition tied for fourth overall with a four-under par 140.
Freshman Blake Pugh carded a five-over par on the second day of action, and is currently tied for 29th with a five-over 149. Senior Michael Smith is tied for 54th with a 76-78 - 154. Freshman Cody Wing rounded out the scoring with a 163. He is currently tied for 68th.
The Lumberjacks will close out the final round of the Jim West Intercollegiate Tuesday morning.
