Ladyjacks Ninth at Crown Classic

LUFKIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team fired a 694 in the first two rounds of the Ladyjack Crown Classic Monday at Crown Colony Country Club, and are currently ninth overall.
The Ladyjacks are being led by junior Chelsea Simmons who is tied for 18th after firing an 82-83 - 165. Simmons is on stroke ahead of freshman Aliece Anderson with an 82-83 - 166. Anderson is currently tied for 22nd.
Sophomore Sara Jones struggled to a 186 Monday afternoon. She is tied for 52nd overall. After a tough opening round of 18 holes sophomore Rose Henderson cut 16 strokes off her score in the round to tie Jones for 52nd overall. Junior Allison Flake is 55th overall with a 188.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday morning for the final round of action at the Ladyjack Crown Classic. Teams will tee off from the first and 10th tee at 8:30 a.m.
