McLeroy Finishes Fourth at SLU

HOUMA, La. - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team place two individuals in the top 10 Tuesday morning to finish fourth overall at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in Houma, La. The Lumberjacks fired a 291-303-302 - 896 on the par-72, 7,104-yard course.
Junior Mitchell McLeroy finished fourth overall after firing a three-over par 219 in the three rounds of action, but struggled in the final round with his highest round of the week. McLeroy closed out the tournament with a four-over 76. Freshman Austin DeWitt rallied on the final day carding the team's lowest round of the tournament. He recorded a two-under 70 to finish tied for 14th overall with a 222.
After opening with a one-under 71, senior Stetson McMillan struggled in the final two rounds. The Hideaway, Texas, native posted a six-over 78 to fall to 10-over 228 (T14th).
Freshman Blake Pugh also recorded his highest round of the week Tuesday morning with a six-over 78. He finished tied for 21st with a 229. Classmate Cody Wing recorded a 252 to finish tied for 52nd overall.
The SFA men return to action Monday when they travel to Little Rock, Ark., to compete in the UALR Collegiate Classic.
