LUFKIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team held a fundraiser over the weekend at Crown Colony Country Club. The fundraiser was a Pro-Am doubles team tournament that consisted of club members teaming up with members of the SFA team.
"I want to give a huge thanks to Karen Crumpton and all of the members at Crown Colony that came out and played doubles this weekend," said Sullivan. "We had a great time, met some great people, and were really given first-class treatment. The generous contributions made to our team will be a huge help to us and allow us to give our team even more opportunities to travel and play great competition across the country. It's great both for our coaching staff and players to connect with the tennis players in the community and we're looking forward to seeing some of our new friends in the stands at our home matches this season."
The tournament champions were The Lobsters. It was played Friday and Saturday, and the funds raised go toward the team's travel budget.
