CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team will have some ground to make up Tuesday morning when they begin the final round of competition in the Islander Classic at the Par-72, 6,903-yard Corpus Christi Country Club course.
Sophomore Aliece Anderson has placed herself in strong contention for a top-10 finish after consecutive rounds of sub-80 Monday. Anderson finished the day with a 74-79 - 153 and is currently tied for 12th overall. Classmate Sara Jones is currently tied for 53rd overall with an 84-81 - 165. Junior Allison Flake is only a stroke back of Jones with a two-round 166. Flake is 56th overall.
Sophomore Rose Henderson and Chelsea Simmons fired identical first round scores in the tournament. Henderson is currently tied for 69th overall with an 87-87 - 174, while Simmons carded an 88 in both rounds to place tied for 73rd overall.
The Ladyjacks will close out the Islander Classic with the final round of action Tuesday morning. SFA is slated to tee off the back nine beginning at 8:30 a.m.
