Ladyjacks Fire Solid Rounds, Finish Day 6th at ASU

JONESBORO, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team fired two of the better rounds in program history Monday afternoon in the opening round of the Lady Red Wolves Classic at Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark., to sit sixth overall. The Ladyjacks fired a 310-312 - 622, and are sixth overall.
Aliece Anderson opened the tournament with a two-under 70, but struggled in the second round firing a 10-over 82. She is currently tied with teammate Chelsea Simmons for 12th place (152).
Freshman Julia Bazaldua recorded a top-25 finish after the first two rounds after posting an 83-76 - 159. She is two strokes ahead of classmate Sydney Reed who is tied for 31st overall. Freshman Amanda Mire rounded out the scoring for the Ladyjacks posting a 168 to finish the day 41st.
The Ladyjacks will close out the tournament Tuesday morning with the final round of 18 holes.
