Ladyjacks In Sixth Place At Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin bowling team finished the first day of competition at the Mid-Winter Classic in sixth place after five games on Friday at the Jonesboro Bowling Center.
The Ladyjacks finished the day with a pinfall total of 4,552 and are 92 behind rival Sam Houston State. Arkansas State is leading the way with 5,077 pins, followed by Central Missouri (4,806) and Vanderbilt (4,791).
SFA ended the day with 2-3 record and started the tournament by falling to the Red Wolves 1,021-963. The Ladyjacks would rebound though by defeating Texas Southern, 882-812 in match two before falling 1,011-899 in match three against Southern.
The Ladyjacks fell again in match four, this time to Central Missouri, 956-884, but closed the day strong by knocking off Jackson State 924-898.
SFA will compete in traditional team matches Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with bracket play.
