Ladyjack Golf Finishes Ninth At ULM

MONROE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team fired a 340-320-336 -996 to place ninth overall at the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational in Monroe, La., Tuesday afternoon. The Ladyjacks closed out the 2011-12 season opener with their second-best round of the tournament on the Bayou Desiard Country Club's par 72, 5,923-yard course.
Junior Chelsea Simmons led the Ladyjacks with a three-round score of 78-80-79 - 237, to place tied for 30th overall. Simmons, who was the team leader from the beginning, was one of two Ladyjacks to post improvements from Monday's second round score. Classmate Allison Flake recorded a two-day score of 86-85-83 - 254 to finish tied for 52nd. Sophomore Aliece Anderson struggled on the final day carding a third-round 87 to fall into a tie with Flake at 254.
Sophomore Sara Jones posted the team's fourth-lowest score with a 87-80-92 - 259. She finished the tournament tied for 54th overall. Classmate Rosie Henderson closed out the SFA scoring with a 262. She was 58th overall.
The Ladyjacks return to action Monday when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the ORU Shootout.
