SFA Women's Golf Team Finishes Ninth After Opening Day

MONROE, La - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team traveled to Monroe, Louisiana for their season opener to compete in the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational at the Bayou Desiard Country Club. After the first two rounds of play, the Ladyjacks carded a 340-320--660 to place ninth overall at the end of the first day.
Junior Chelsea Simmons led the Ladyjacks after finishing in a tie for 27th place after shooting a 78-80--158. Sophomore teammates Aliece Anderson and Sara Jones are currently tied for 57th after carding a 167.
Junior Allison Flake recorded an 86-85--171, finishing in a tie for 53rd, while sophomore Rose Marie Henderson shot four strokes behind Flake to finish in 58th place.
The Ladyjacks return to action tomorrow morning to finish out the third and final round of the ULM Fred Marx Invitational on the par 72, 5923-yard course.
