DALLAS, Texas - Former Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack standout Dominique Edison was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys announced ESPN.com late Saturday evening. Edison, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans, also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks organization before returning to Texas.
A four-year letterwinner, Edison finished his SFA career as the school's all-time leading receiver posting 182 catches for 2,696 yards and 28 touchdowns. The two-time All-Southland Conference selection closed out his career by hauling in 67 passes for 1,016 yards at 18 touchdowns to earn first-team all-conference honors, and be named to several All-America squads.
Edison was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round (No. 206th) of the 2009 NFL draft. He was the first of six Lumberjacks over the course of the past three seasons to either be drafted or sign free agent contracts with an NFL franchise.
