
Two Lumberjacks Named to All-SLC Teams

FRISCO, Texas - Junior Stetson McMillan and sophomore Mitchell McLeroy have been named to the 2011 All-Southland Conference teams announced league officials Monday afternoon. It marks the first time in their careers that they have received postseason conference honors, and the first time since the 2004 season that SFA has had at least two players represented on the all-conference teams.
A second-team All-SLC selection, McLeroy was the 'Jacks most consistent player throughout the 2010-11 season. He finished the year with a 73.48 stroke average, and was the team's top finisher in four tournament including two top-10 finishes. McLeroy carded five sub-par rounds on the season including a personal-best six-under par in the second round of the SLC Championships last week.
McLeroy was in the hunt for the conference individual title throughout the three-day tournament with a one-under par 215. He closed out the tournament tied for fifth overall, only three strokes back of the individual championship.
McMillan garnered third-team recognition after posting a solid five-over par 221 to finish tied for 17th at the conference championships. McMillan recorded the team's lowest score in six tournaments in 2010-11, including four top-10 finishes and two-tournament runner-up finishes.
McMillan carded a 73.52 stroke average during his junior campaign, and recorded seven rounds of par or better. His best round of the season came when he fired a six-under 66 in the third round of the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate.
