
SFA Men Tied for Third at SLC Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Southland Conference Championships Monday at the Waterchase Golf Club. SFA carded a solid 296 to place in a tie for third place after a strong round of play.
Senior Kyle Robbins led the 'Jacks firing a 72 to finish in a seven-way tie for second place at the end of the day. Sophomore Mitchell McLeroy was only one stroke behind Robbins, finishing in a tie for ninth place. Junior Stetson McMillan shot a 74 to end the day in a tie for 14th overall.
Freshman Jason Fiscus and senior Richard Wilkenfeld rounded out the day for the Lumberjacks. Fiscus carded a five-over 77 and currently sits tied for 29th heading into the second round of play. Wilkenfeld sits one stroke back of Fiscus and is tied for 34th overall.
The 'Jacks pair up with the Southeastern Louisiana Lions Tuesday morning as they return to the greens for the second round of the championships. SFA is slated to tee off at 8:40 a.m., from the par-72, 7,304-yard Waterchase course.
