'Jacks Struggle in Second Round

VICTORIA, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack men's golf team was two-under par after five holes Monday morning in the second round of the Jim West Intercollegiate, but struggled down the stretch finishing the day with a 299 (297-299 - 596). SFA had climbed to second overall in the team's standings before dropping into a two-way tie for fifth with 18 holes remaining.
Junior Stetson McMillan moved into the overall top 10 with his second consecutive round of one-over par. He is currently tied for ninth overall with a 146. Sophomore Mitchell McLeroy finished the day four strokes back of McMillan. He began the day tied with his teammate but enters the final day tied for 27th overall (73-77 - 150).
Freshman Jason Fiscus and senior Kyle Robbins both finished the day three-over par, but Fiscus has a one stroke lead over the upperclassman with 18 holes to play. Fiscus (75-75 - 150) is currently tied for 27th, while Robbins is tied for 34th. Senior Ricky Wilkenfeld made the biggest improve from Sunday's opening round, cutting three strokes off his opening round score. He enters the final round tied for 55th overall (79-76 - 155).
The Lumberjacks close out the final round of the Jim West Intercollegiate Tuesday morning. SFA is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. from the par-72, 6,870-yard Victoria Country Club course.
