
SFA Wins Four On Saturday

SMYRNA, Tenn. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack bowling team went 4-2 Saturday on Day 2 at the Music City Classic. The performance moves the Ladyjacks to 6-6 on the weekend and helped SFA go from 13th to 11th in the 20-team field.
Saturday's results included wins over Arkansas State, Texas Southern, Southern and Monmouth.
The Ladyjacks opened play with a 970-913 win over No. 8 Arkansas State. Ashli Rosenkranz and Nicole Parkhurst led the way with a 205 and 202, respectively, in the first match. Madison Williams bowled a 199. Dustie Hammond rolled a 183 and Sierra Gibbons posted a 181.
SFA followed with a 948-860 verdict over Texas Southern. Three Ladyjacks broke 200, led by Williams' 212. Rosenkranz bowled a 203 and Parkhurst put up a 202. Hammond rolled a 186 and Gibbons bowled a 145.
In the third match, SFA dropped a 1002-899 decision against national No. 1 team Fairleigh Dickinson. Rosenkranz bowled a 202 and Gibbons added a 197.
The Ladyjacks rebounded in the fourth match to knock off Southern, 944-882. Rosenkranz bowled her fourth consecutive 200 game, putting up a score of 211 to lead SFA. Williams put up a 206 and Parkhurst rolled a 193.
SFA then lost to No. 16 Alabama A&M, 1076-927. Williams posted a 211 to lead the way, and Rosenkranz rolled a 204. Hammond bowled a 198.
The Ladyjacks finished strong with their best team score of the day, knocking off Monmouth, 1031-873. Gibbons paced the effort with a 233 and Hammond put up a 223. Parkhurst chipped in with a 206. Rosenkranz bowled a 186 and Williams rolled a 183.
Sunday's action will consist of bracketed play in best-of-seven baker format.
