Lumberjack Golf Finishes 12th at Louisiana Tech

CHOUDRANT, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack men's golf team was unable to move up the standings on the final day of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic in Choudrant, La. The Lumberjacks recorded their lowest round of the tournament (302) on the par 72 7,105-yard Squire Creek Course, but finished 12th overall (314-311-302 - 927).
Sophomore Mitchell McLeroy led the team with a tournament-low eight-over par 224. He carded a two over 74 on the final day of action to finish tied for 21st overall. SFA's next three scorers finished 11 strokes back of McLeroy. Junior Stetson McMillan finished with a three-day score of 80-80-75 - 235, while sophomore Austin Green recorded a four-over 76 Tuesday to finished tied with McMillan. Senior Ricky Wilkenfeld closed out the tournament with a 78 to be the third Lumberjack with a three-round score of 235. The Lumberjack trio tied for 55th overall.
Senior Kyle Robbins was the fifth Lumberjack to compete at Louisiana Tech. Robbins finished with a three-round 237 to place 60th overall.
The Lumberjacks will return to action Monday, March 28th when they travel to Shreveport, La., to compete in the Centenary/Hal Sutton Invitational.
