Ladyjack Tennis Returns to Action

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis will look to start the Patrick Sullivan era off with three-straight wins when it faces Prairie View A&M Saturday in Baytown, Texas. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
Led by junior Alina Shazhko, the reigning Southland Conference Player of the Week, the Ladyjacks will look to pick up where they left off last weekend after dominating performances against Trinity (TX) and St. Mary's (TX) in San Antonio. SFA didn't surrender a point in either match and dropped only one doubles match in the doubleheader.
Shazhko recorded two singles victories at No. 1 singles, and also went undefeated at No. 2 doubles to earn the league's first conference player of the week honor of the 2011 season.
The Ladyjacks will return to the court Sunday, Feb. 13, when they host Louisiana Tech. The match against the Lady Techsters is slated to begin at noon from the Schlief Tennis Complex, and will serve at the team's home opener.
