SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Less than 24 hours after the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team started its 2011 spring campaign, the Lumberjacks opened their spring schedule. The 'Jacks fired a 297-290 - 587, and are currently 11th overall, but sit less than 10 strokes out of the top five heading into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Mitchell McLeroy is leading the charge for SFA after and opening day 73-71 - 144. McLeroy is currently tied for 26th overall. Senior Richard Wilkenfeld recorded consecutive one-over par rounds, and is tied for 34th overall only two strokes back of McLeroy.
Junior Stetson McMillan opened the day with a one-over 73, but fired a three-over par 75 in the second round. He finished the day tied for 44th overall with a 148. Senior Kyle Robbins was only a stroke back with a 149. Robbins struggled in the opening round with a six-over 78, but battled back with a one-under 71 in the second round and is currently tie for 48th overall. Redshirt freshman Jason Fiscus closed out the Lumberjacks' day with a 79-82 - 161.
The 'Jacks close out the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational with the final round of 18 holes Tuesday morning.
