Alina Shazhko named SLC Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack junior Alina Shazhko has been named the Southland Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after leading the Ladyjacks to back-to-back season-opening shutout wins over Trinity (TX) and St. Mary's.
Shazhko went 2-0 at No.1 singles and 2-0 at No.1 doubles with partner Ksenia Berestetska, as SFA started the season 2-0. Shazkho won both singles matches in straight sets, defeating St. Mary's Climen Soy, 6-0, 6-2, and Trinity's Thavindra Ekanayake, 6-1, 6-0.
The Ladyjacks return to action on Friday, Feb. 4, when they travel to Baytown, Texas to take on Prairie View A&M in the Lee College Quad. The match is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
