
Ladyjacks Finish Fifth at Sam Houston Kat Klash

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack bowling team wrapped up a strong weekend at the Sam Houston Kat Klash in Huntsville, Texas Sunday. The Ladyjacks posted a fifth-place finish in the 14-team field. The Kat Klash consisted of several teams ranked among the nation's top 10 including Vanderbilt, Arkansas State and Nebraska.
In addition to their upset of the No. 2 Commodores, SFA also recorded victories over Jackson State, Alabama State, Texas Southern and Monmouth. The Ladyjacks finished the weekend with an 8-5 overall record and were led by two bowlers who finished among the field's overall top-15, including sophomore Nicole Parkhurst who was sixth overall. The Utica, N.Y., native averaged a 218 in her five games to lead SFA.
The Ladyjacks will take some time off for finals and the holidays before returning to action in the Mid-Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark. The three-day tournament will begin Friday, Jan. 13, and run through Sunday, Jan. 15.
