NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's bowling team was ranked 11th in the second National Tenpin Coaches Association poll released Tuesday night, the highest the Ladyjacks have ever been ranked in the program's three year history.
SFA, who was previously ranked 13th, received 195 poll points after opening the season with a 25-16 record through its first four tournaments.
"We have been working hard as a team during the first semester and it reflected in the rankings," SFA head coach Amber Lemke said. "It is a total team effort and we have had contributions from many different ladies. It Is exciting to know we are only half way through our season and we have accomplished so much already."
The Ladyjacks will return to action Jan. 13-15 when they travel to Jonesboro, Ark. for hosts Mid-Winter Invitational at the Jonesboro Bowling Center.
"With us being on break until next year we will need to be ready and refocused when we begin again in January to build on the success we've had so far. We are going to push hard through the second semester to get into the top eight in the nation."
