Anderson Lands Top-10 Finish at Missouri State

Sophomore Aliece Anderson carded a three-round 76-77-75 - 228 to lead the Stephen F. Austin (321-325-323 - 969) women's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial Invitational Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, Mo. Anderson finished the tournament sixth overall, recording the best individual finish of her career.
Junior Chelsea Simmons posted the Ladyjacks' second-lowest score with her 239 to finish tied for 27th. Simmons recorded her best round of the tournament Tuesday firing a 78. Sophomore Sara Jones finished 42nd overall with a three-round 81-84-84 - 249. Junior Allison Flake was four strokes back of Jones with an 83-84-86 - 253. Sophomore Rose Henderson closed out the scoring with an 88-95-86 - 269.
The Ladyjacks will have the rest of the fall semester off before return to action Monday, Feb. 19, at the Claud Jacobs Invitational in Victoria, Texas.
