
Men's Golf Unable To Move Up In Second Round

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team completed the second round of the Lone Star Invitational firing one stroke back from the previous round, but was unable to climb the leader board. The Lumberjacks carded a 297-296--593 to finish the second round in 14th place.
Junior Mitchell McLeroy led the 'Jacks after firing a 70 in the second round to move up on the scoreboard into a tie 28th. Senior Michael Smith and freshman Jeff Hageman both carded a 75 in the second round. Smith finished in a tie for 51st, while Hageman finished in a tie for 57th.
Freshman Blake Pugh was only one stroke back of Smith and Hageman and was 68th at the end of the day, while freshman Chase Webb carded an 80 to finish in a tie for 81st.
The Lumberjacks return to the Briggs Ranch Golf Course Tuesday morning for the third and final round of the Lone Star Invitational.
