Lumberjacks Struggle in Season Opener

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks carded a 20-over par 596 in the opening round UTA/Waterchase Invitational Monday afternoon in Arlington, Texas. SFA fired a 299-297 - 596.
The Lumberjacks are being led by junior Stetson McMillan who fired a one-over 145. McMillan is currently tied for 23rd overall. Sophomore Mitchell McLeroy is only one stroke back of McMillan. He shot a one-under 71 in the opening round, but fell four strokes off the pace in the second round. McLeroy is currently tied for 30th overall.
Sophomore Austin Green is currently tied for 70th overall, but really battled back after a tough opening round. Green recorded an opening round 80, before closing the day with a one over 73. Senior Kyle Robbins fired a 154, and is currently tied for 79th overall only a stroke back of Green. Redshirt freshman Jason Fiscus is 95th overall with an 86-76 - 162.
The Lumberjacks return to action Tuesday at 8 a.m. to close out the final round of action in the tournament.
