Ladyjacks Close with Strong Final Round

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team rallied for an impressive final round of play at the UNT Worldlink Classic. The Ladyjacks fired a 314 on the par 72 Golf Course at Champions Circle, but were unable to climb in the standings placing 12th overall.
After a tough second round, the Ladyjacks responded with three players carding a sub-80 score Tuesday morning. Sophomore Allison Flake saved her best for last recording a four-over 76 to finish tied for 53rd overall (81-86-76 - 243). Classmate Chelsea Simmons was the team's most consistent player during the three-round tournament leading SFA with a 74-84-77 - 235. Simmons finished tied for 34th overall. Senior Noelle Willcoxon finished six strokes back of Simmons with a 241. Willcoxon finished the tournament tied for 47th overall.
Freshman Marissa Bransburg carded an 81-83-88 - 252 to finish 63rd overall. Classmate Allece Anderson finished just three strokes back of Bransburg with a 255. She place tied for 65th overall.
The Ladyjacks return to action Monday, Sept. 27, when they travel to Monroe, La. to compete in the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational.
