
McLeroy Places 45th at Texas State Open

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin sophomore Mitchell McLeroy fired a two-over par 282 to finish tied for 45th over the weekend at the 40th Chesapeake Energy Texas State Open. The Mansfield, Texas native, fired rounds of 70-69-71-72 on the par 70 course at the Cascades.
McLeroy's finish is even more impressive by the fact that he recorded the fourth-best round by an amateur. McLeroy capped strong freshman campaign at SFA by helping the team to one its best finishes at the conference meet in several seasons.
