
McMillan Finishes 4th at Texas Amateur Championship

DALLAS, Texas - Stephen F. Austin junior golfer Stetson McMillan recorded an eight-under 276 to finish fourth at the 101st Texas Amateur Championships played at the Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, Texas last month. McMillan finished just a stroke out of second place, and only six strokes back of the leader.
McMillan opened the tournament with consecutive rounds of one-under par, and improved each day. He carded a two-under 69 in the third round, and closed out the tournament with a four-under 67.
McMillan was one of two Lumberjack players in the tournament. Teammate Michael Smith also competed finishing tied for 38th overall. Smith recorded a four-round 293, but was in the hunt until the final day. Smith entered the final day of the tournament only three-over par, but struggled in the final round with a six-over 77.
