NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Marissa Bransburg (Montgomery, Texas), Aliece Anderson (Kingwood, Texas) and Rose Marie Henderson (Round Rock, Texas) have signed National Letters of Intent to play golf at Stephen F. Austin head coach Trey Schroeder announced Wednesday afternoon.
"We are very excited about the quality of the incoming class," said Schroeder. "We are bringing in three very talented young ladies who will have an immediate impact on our team next year. All three players have had a highly decorated high school career."
Anderson was a four-year letterwinner for Kingwood Park High School where she earned player of the year honors. A two-time district champion, Anderson closed out her high school career by winning the 2010 district title and advancing to the Region 3-4A Championships. She also won the 2009 HGA Junior event at the Woodlands Country Club.
Montgomery High School experienced a great deal of success in Bransburg's final season. Following on the heels of a 2009 state title, Bransburg guided Montgomery to the 2010 district, Region 3-4A and state championship. A two-time all-district and all-region selection, Bransburg closed out her career earning first-team all-state honors with a third-place finish at the state championships.
The incoming class of freshmen will join a very young squad for the 2010-11 season. SFA's roster will consist of one senior, four sophomores and three freshmen.
