BRANSON, Mo. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team fired a 592 on the opening day of the Branson Creek Invitational, and is currently fourth heading into Tuesday's final round of action.
The `Jacks are led by junior Kyle Robbins who is in the hunt for the individual title. Robbins is one-under par on the day after firing a 72-71 - 143. Robbins is one of two SFA players among the overall top 10.
Freshman Austin Green shot an opening round 74, and came right back in the afternoon to post an even-par round. Green is currently tied for ninth overall.
Junior Michael Smith posted rounds of 74-76 - 150 to sit tied for 21st overall. Freshman Mitchell McLeroy is tied for 32nd after firing a 10-over 154. Sophomore Jordan Wynn tied MeLeroy carding a 78-76 - 154 on the opening day.
SFA will close out the Branson Creek Invitational when they return to action Tuesday morning.
