
'Jacks Finish Third at Charleston Shootout

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team recorded a 296-301-288 - 885 to finish third overall at the Wendy's Charleston Shootout Monday afternoon. The five Lumberjack golfers were separated by four strokes led by Stetson McMillan's 221.
All five players shot at least76 in Tuesday's final round, and three 'Jacks finished with rounds of par or better. McMillan led the way shooting a three-under 69 to finish tied for 18th overall. Freshman Mitchell McLeroy and senior Ricky Wilkenfeld were only a stroke off McMillan's pace to finish tied for 26th overall. McLeroy recorded a 75-71-76 - 222, while Wilkenfeld shot a 76-75-71 - 222. Juniors Kyle Robbins and Michael Smith finished tied for 34th overall after carding a 225.
The Lumberjacks will take a week off before traveling to Ruston, La., to compete in the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Invitational.
