
`Battle for the Chief' to be Televised

FRISCO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks' regular-season finale against Northwestern State is going to be televised on the Southland Television Network announced league officials Thursday morning. It will be the fourth time this season an SFA game has been televised, and third time this year the 'Jacks will appear on the SLC-TV Network. SFA is 3-0 in televised games this season.
The conference leaves the final week of the regular season open as its `wild card' broadcast, to televise a game that is key in the conference title chase. The seventh-ranked Lumberjacks and Northwestern State each enter the final two weeks of the regular season in a three-way tie for first place (McNeese State). SFA (7-2/4-1 SLC) currently holds the tie-breaker against McNeese State, while the Cowboys (5-4/4-1 SLC) own the tie-breaker over Northwestern State (5-4/4-1 SLC).
Before either team can think about a possible conference title, they will both face tough matchups Saturday. The Demons host Nicholls, while SFA faces Southeastern Louisiana from Homer Bryce Stadium. Both game are slated for 2 p.m. kickoffs.
