
SFA Golf Hires Assistant Coach

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stefanie Maynard-Gray has been named assistant golf coach Stephen F. Austin head coach Trey Schroeder announced Tuesday morning.
"I am very pleased with the addition of Stefanie to our staff," said Schroeder. "She was a highly successful golfer who brings a winning attitude to our program. She will be a valuable asset to this university."
Maynard-Gray makes her way to Nacogdoches after spending the past six years in the business sector. Throughout her career as a player Maynard-Gray has proven herself as a winner on the golf course. A 2008 semi-finalist in the Texas Women's State Amateur, Maynard-Gray won the Austin-San Antonio Tour Championship in 2007. She is also a two-time National Championship qualifier in the Golf Channel Amateur Tour.
One of the top female golfers in Texas-Pan American history, Maynard-Gray was a three-time National Minority Golf Championship and two-time Bronc Intercollegiate Golf Tournament winner. A 2003 newcomer of the year selection, Maynard-Gray was named as the 2006 UTPA Athlete of the Year.
