A New Era Begins in SFA Athletics

The Stephen F. Austin athletic department begins a new chapter of the program's history beginning Monday morning when the Ladyjack Golf team begins competition at the DBU Invitational. One of two new varsity sports beginning at SFA (women's bowling) this season, the Ladyjack golf team begins its inaugural season with a two-day tournament in Dallas.
The Ladyjacks youthful roster consists of five athletes, which includes four freshmen. The freshmen consist of Erin Daurity (Missouri City, Texas), Allison Flake (Friendswood, Texas), Chelsea Simmons (Austin, Texas) and Wallis Spears (Kerrville, Texas), while the lone sophomore is Noelle Willcoxon.
The Ladyjacks 2009-10 schedule consists of nine dates, before the Ladyjacks head to Huntsville, Texas in April to compete at the Southland Conference Championships. SFA's squad will have the opportunity to get familiar with the 2010 conference championship course when they travel to Huntsville in mid October to compete in the Sam Houston State Invitational.
